Hotpoint currently uses two different logos depending on the region. In Europe and the UK, the version consists of the Hotpoint name in a font with rounded letter edges. This logo reflects the brand identity under Whirlpool and Arçelik. In the Americas, where the brand is owned by GE Appliances (part of Haier), a different logo is used — Hotpoint written in red with straight edges and a diamond-shaped dot above the letter “i”. This visual difference is due to the brand being divided between different regional owners. A third logo, “Hotpoint-Ariston” with an underline and “Ariston” written below, was historically used in Europe from 2007 to 2011 but is no longer officially in use.
Hotpoint is one of the oldest appliance brands, founded in the USA in 1911. Its name refers to the invention of the first electric iron with a heated tip — the “hot point”. In the 20th century, it became part of General Electric in the USA, and later entered the European market through Indesit and then Whirlpool. In 2014, Whirlpool took over the brand in Europe, and in 2022, Hotpoint operations were transferred to joint management by Arçelik and Whirlpool. In the USA, the brand remains with GE Appliances, now owned by Chinese corporation Haier. As a result, Hotpoint exists in two regional versions with different logos, product ranges and branding. The brand offers a wide range of household appliances, from washing machines to ovens, and remains recognized in Europe and beyond.
