The Kalashnikov Concern logo, used by a manufacturer of defense and civilian products, consists of a graphic mark and a text name. The graphic mark looks like a dark square with an angular inner cutout on the right; because of this cutout, the silhouette reads as the letter “K” or a flag-like shape. Inside the dark shape there is a bright red square that serves as the key color accent. Next to it, the text is set in dark, all-caps sans-serif letters — “КАЛАШНИКОВ” in the Russian version and “KALASHNIKOV” in the English-language version. The concern’s name is linked to the surname of designer Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov: in 2013 he officially gave his name to the newly created concern, and the name became the group’s corporate name.
Joint Stock Company “Kalashnikov Concern” is a Russian industrial group and the largest manufacturer of small arms in Russia. The enterprises that formed the basis of the group trace their history back to 1807, and the concern itself was created in 2013 through the consolidation of Izhmash assets and the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, followed by renaming to “Kalashnikov”. The company produces military and civilian products: its range includes automatic weapons and sniper rifles, as well as civilian products, including hunting and sporting firearms and other production areas; part of the output is exported. The concern is part of the Rostec State Corporation and has a mixed ownership structure: as of 2018, the controlling stake held by private investors was increased to 75% minus one share, while Rostec retained a blocking stake.
