The MG Motor logo features capital letters MG enclosed in a precise octagonal frame — the classic octagon. The current flat design, introduced in 2021, uses thinner lines and retains geometric clarity, giving more visual space and a lighter appearance. The badge is red with no fills on a white background. This refreshed look brings youthful energy while staying true to the brand’s heritage.
MG Motor Corporation Limited (MG Motor), derived from Morris Garages, was founded in 1924 by Cecil Kimber in the UK. The name originates from the Morris Garages dealership in Oxford, where Kimber worked and created modified Morris cars. The octagon badge with initials has been used since 1927 and became one of the most iconic emblems in motoring. After several ownership changes, the brand was revived by China’s SAIC Motor Corporation Limited in 2007. Today MG produces a wide range of models — from hatchbacks and crossovers to electric vehicles — promoting sustainable mobility while retaining its sporty British roots.
