Where and how can I use it?

SVG format

It’s a lightweight vector format (in kilobytes) that’s ideal for use on websites, in mobile apps, and for print. Thanks to its scalability to any size without loss of quality, it can be scaled from the size of an icon to a banner on a building. The file is easily editable in popular graphics editors such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and others, and opens in Photoshop without any issues.

PNG format

It’s a raster format with support for transparent backgrounds, making it ideal for use on websites, web graphics, in presentations, documents, and social media. PNG preserves high image quality at its original size, but may lose sharpness and become blurred when enlarged. The file easily opens and is used in popular editors such as Photoshop, GIMP, Canva, Figma, and most standard image viewers.

The Scotchgard logo of the brand of protective products for fabrics, furniture, and various surfaces is placed on a white diamond-shaped base with a chrome border around the edge. The name Scotchgard is set in a dense black sans-serif typeface, vertically elongated and slanted upward along a rising line. The letters are built with strokes of uniform thickness. Below the main name, the word PROTECTOR appears in small uppercase letters, and next to it is the red 3M logo. The name Scotchgard is formed from two parts: Scotch, referring to 3M’s historic consumer line, and guard, meaning “protection.” The brand has existed since 1956, when 3M introduced Scotchgard Fabric and Upholstery Protector to the textile industry.

How did the McDonald’s logo come about?

The Nike logo only cost $35

The Nike logo — the famous “Swoosh” — was designed in 1971 by design student Carolyn Davidson. She received only $35 for her work. Co-founder Phil Knight admitted that he didn’t particularly like the logo, but that he would “get used to it over time.” Later, when Nike became a successful brand, Carolyn received a gold ring with the logo and company shares in gratitude, which made her a millionaire.

Interesting fact about the Apple logo

The first Apple logo, depicting Newton under an apple tree, was created in 1976 by company co-founder Ronald Wayne. However, in 1977, the now-famous bitten apple logo appeared, designed by graphic designer Rob Janoff. Rob received about $500 for his work — and no royalties, even though the logo became one of the most recognizable in the world.
