The BundID logo, for a government service providing access to digital administrative services, consists of the name and a graphic element associated with identification and account security. The word bund is set in lowercase dark blue serif letters, while ID appears in large, slanted grey uppercase letters. Above the space between the two parts of the name, three circular dots are stacked vertically in the colours of the German flag: black, red and golden yellow. To the right is a circle containing a padlock. On dark backgrounds, an inverse version is used in which all logo elements are white except the three vertically arranged dots, which retain their colours. In 2023, BundID adopted an updated visual identity that includes the current version of the logo.
BundID is the German Federal Government’s central account for citizens to access digital federal, state and municipal services. The service is provided by the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation, with technical implementation by AKDB and operation by ITZBund. BundID has been in use since 2019 and allows users to identify themselves when submitting online applications, automatically transfer stored personal data into forms, and receive messages and official decisions from public authorities in an electronic mailbox. Users can sign in using the online ID function, electronic identification means from other EU countries, an ELSTER certificate, or a username and password. BundID is being developed as a single access point to digital services provided by federal, state and municipal authorities.
