The logo of Rospatent, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, consists of a heraldic emblem and the agency’s name. The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) is a federal executive authority of the Russian Federation responsible for the state system of legal protection of intellectual property. The agency traces its history back to September 29, 1955, when the Committee for Inventions and Discoveries under the Council of Ministers of the USSR was established; in 2025, Rospatent marked its 70th anniversary. Today, Rospatent handles the state registration and legal protection of inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, geographical indications, and other forms of intellectual property, maintains the relevant state registers, and provides related government services. The agency also contributes to the development of the intellectual property rights market, digital patent services, and international cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
