The logo of Cadillac is a heraldic shield styled in a modern graphic design. In the current version introduced in 2021, it is rendered in monochrome — black shapes on a white background, without depth or color. The shield retains the structure of the historical coat of arms of the French officer Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, after whom the brand is named. That emblem featured stylized stripes, color sections and three black birds called “merlettes,” traditional heraldic symbols. Today the logo appears more abstract yet still recognizable, emphasizing the brand’s continuity. To the right of the shield or used separately in communications is the wordmark CADILLAC — the brand’s name in wide uppercase sans serif letters, representing the current typographic identity.
Cadillac is one of the oldest American car brands, founded in Detroit in 1902 and named after the city’s founder. Since 1909 it is part of General Motors and historically recognized as the luxury division of the group. The company became known as a pioneer in technology, including mass adoption of electric starters, air conditioning systems, and high‑precision vehicle assembly. Today Cadillac continues to develop premium vehicles including SUVs and electric models such as Lyriq and Celestiq, with a focus on avant‑garde design, advanced technology and electrification of its lineup.
