The Coursera logo, representing the online learning platform, consists of the brand name in lowercase sans-serif lettering. Rounded forms are combined with straight cuts, and the first letter has a wide opening. The main colour is a rich blue, with black and white versions also in use. This wordmark was introduced with the identity update in December 2020, replacing the previous design featuring an infinity symbol. In the new system, the letter C became a graphic element in its own right, representing entry into a world of learning and the journey from discovery to an outcome. Public-facing partner materials use the complete wordmark.
Coursera is a US education company founded in 2012 by Stanford University professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller. The platform works with universities and companies to offer individual courses, hands-on projects, professional certificates and higher education programmes. Subjects include programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, business and other fields. Alongside programmes for individual learners, Coursera provides solutions for organizations and educational institutions seeking to develop the skills of employees and students. Course content and the credentials awarded depend on the specific programme and its education partner.
