The current Great Wall Motor (GWM) logo is a flat red oval containing a stylized symbol referencing the watchtower of the Great Wall of China. The emblem is minimalist—free of shadows, highlights, or 3D effect—aligned with modern digital design trends and easily scalable. Beside or below the graphic element, the acronym GWM is used. This style underlines the brand’s concise and international image. Over the years, the logo has been updated several times but has consistently maintained a connection to the iconic Wall, symbolizing strength and national identity.
Great Wall Motor was founded in 1984 in Baoding, China, and was named after the Great Wall, one of the country’s most powerful symbols. Initially specializing in trucks and off-road vehicles, it later became China’s largest SUV and pickup manufacturer. In the early 2000s, the company began expanding exports and became the first private Chinese automaker to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Today, GWM owns several sub-brands—Haval, Wey, Tank, Ora, and Poer—offering both conventional and electric models. The brand focuses on localization, global technologies, and expanding its presence in key international markets, including Russia, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
