The CLAAS logo for the agricultural machinery manufacturer consists of a red wordmark without a separate emblem. Its five uppercase letters use broad, slanted strokes and sit close together, creating a long horizontal shape. Angular openings are particularly visible in the C and A, while the outer ends of the lettering are slightly rounded. The mark stands out against light backgrounds and on the company’s machines. A secondary version places the same red wordmark on a white panel with sloping sides and rounded corners. The letterforms remain identical in both versions.
CLAAS is a German family-owned company founded in 1913 by August Claas and his brothers. Its early machines bound straw, and August’s knotter mechanism became an important step in the company’s development. CLAAS began building grain-harvesting equipment in 1936. Today its range includes combine and forage harvesters, tractors, balers and grassland machinery. The company is headquartered in Harsewinkel, and its equipment is used by agricultural businesses in many countries.
