The Alipay logo is a graphic element based on the Chinese character “支”, shown in white on a bright blue background with rounded corners. In the updated version presented in 2024 to mark the service’s twentieth anniversary, the logo was redesigned: all text elements were removed, and the “支” symbol is now used as a standalone mark that is easily recognizable and adaptable to various digital interfaces. In the Chinese language, this character means “to pay” or “to make a payment”, which directly reflects the functional purpose of the service. The visual identity update was carried out to make the logo more contemporary and better suited for use across diverse digital environments.
Alipay is the largest payment platform, created in 2004 in China as a secure online payment service within the Alibaba Group ecosystem and now operating as part of Ant Group. Initially designed to handle transactions on the Taobao and Tmall marketplaces, it gradually expanded its functionality to become a universal tool for mobile payments, transfers, bill payments, and financial management. Today, Alipay serves more than one billion users worldwide and continues to evolve, offering innovative financial solutions for both individual users and businesses.
